Hone Your Game at a Resort Golf School

Have you ever wanted to take golf lessons, but wondered where the best golf clinics were? Do you want to take lessons from the best possible golf instructors? If so, then learn how to improve a golf game at some of the country's best golf academies.

Resort Golf Schools

What is a Resort Golf School? It's exactly what it sounds like, a resort and golf clinic all in one. The idea was begun by Scott Sackett, director of the PGA Tour Golf Academy. He realized that many people come to golf academies on their vacation. He decided he should give them a vacation at the golf school. Thus began the Resort Golf Schools.

Today, there are twenty-nine Resort Golf Schools in six states across the country. These resorts offer world-class golf lessons coupled with all of the amenities of a resort hotel. This is the best way to take a golf lessons vacation. These resorts are really the top instructional golf academies in the country, with some of the best golf teachers available.

The Resort Golf School Experience

So, are you thinking that a Resort Golf School vacation might be for you? Here is what a typical experience is like:
Class Size
The student to teacher ration at the Resort Golf School is on average four to one. Not only will you have the chance to learn new and better golf strokes, but you will also make friends with your fellow classmates. You remain with the same class for your entire stay. Cocktail parties are thrown so classmates can socialize with each other. The social aspect is a big part of the Resort Golf School, and many times, former classmates come together in later years to take classes again.
Instruction
Instruction is only five hours per day, and usually lasts for five days. The rest of the time the students are free to play golf wherever they choose. All of the instruction emphasizes the basics of golf, such as the grip, posture, and balance needed for a great swing. Without the basics, no amature can expect to improve their golf game.

The first day of instruction is used to video tape the student. After that, the videotape is referred to throughout the course to help improve the strokes. Videotapes of excellent golfers are also studied throughout the course.

The school can last from two to five days. Five days is recommended to really improve a golf game, as they will study all aspects of the game, including the mental strategies involved. This course is intense, but fun. After 3 PM each day, students are free to play whatever courses they wish. But before 3, expect to work hard!
