Cloud Nine Night Course

Located at Angel Park Golf Club, the Cloud Nine Night Course offers die-hard golfers the chance to golf even after the sun goes down. This course is a par-3 course, and has replicas of some of the most famous par-3 holes in the world. For example, the Postage Stamp from Royal Troon, and the "Island Green" from Sawgrass are all replicated on Cloud Nine. The holes here are short, and only nine are lighted, but they are no less interesting than their longer counterparts. This is where a lot of locals come to unwind after a long day of work. Because the holes are so short, the challenge lies in not over hitting the holes. This course is not expensive, just $20 for adults and discounts are available for senior citizens and children. This is a great place to enjoy golf with the family.

Craig Ranch Golf Course

The Craig Ranch Golf Course is the perfect course for beginners. It is not a difficult course, and it is not expensive either. The course has large fairways, making it an excellent place to start learning to golf. The greens are fast, and there are a few water hazards and sand hazards. The course is perhaps one of the cheapest 18 hole courses in the city, with a price tag of less than $20.

Desert Rose Golf Course

The Desert Rose Golf Course was built in 1963, which makes it the oldest golf course in Vegas. Close to the strip, this course is ideal for walking, as it is not unbearably long. The back nine of the course has a six-foot water stream, creating an interesting hazard. Hole two is their signature hole, and it is a dogleg right. The tee must be fairly long, at least 100 yards, in order to reach the fairway. On the right of the fairway, there is a lake, so watch out for that. The course is surrounded by towering pine trees, which makes it easy to forget you are in the desert. Desert Rose is a moderately difficult course.

Playing Golf in the Desert

Golfing in the desert creates some challenges that are unique. You want to be careful when golfing in the heat of a desert summer day. Try to plan a golfing trip in Vegas for the fall or spring. If you have to be in Vegas during the summer, plan to golf early in the morning or right around sunset. Keep in mind that since Vegas is in the bowl of a valley, there are interesting wind conditions around all of these courses.

From Angel Park Golf to Siena Golf, Las Vegas offers fun, if not the most challenging, courses for golfers, both old and new. Several places, like Craig Ranch Golf Course, offer discount golf in Las Vegas. When planning your next trip to Vegas, don't forget to pack the golf gear!
